What do you mean "Shadow AI"?
Well, shadow AI, summarised simply, is literally AI that is not known about. It isn't shoved in your face, it does things quietly , and usually in the background. It could be that, like, a chatbot that scrapes and keeps conversations. Or, for the imaginary executives reading this (Lets be honest, maybe 1 or 2 people will ever see this.), is like putting confidential data into a chatbot like chatgpt which scrapes chat
Yeah, but I don't own a billion dollar buisness, so what?
Well, shadow AI is also important to know to you. Basically, for the regular old joes who do mind on using every single drop water in order to produce an image of a road, this includes it being discreetly shoved into your products. For example, Windows Recall uses Copilot so you can ask the idiot where it put your photos.
Well, how do I kill the thing?
Bad news. You can't convince a company to do ANYTHING unless it would hurt their reputation by inaction. You would have better luck inventing time travel. One of the things you can do as a consumer is to just... Not use the product? If you are unhappy, stop using it. If you need it, then, I do have a piece of advice. Deal with it. Just don't use it for anything you don't want big old microslop knowing.

Yes. I really can not be bothered to blabber on about ai. It's a love hate relationship. I use it all of the time but I hate, hate, HATE the damn things other than text. Even then, it's still a bit dodge While it makes my life infinitley easier, it also makes my life infinitley harder. I now work in a DYING industry (Tech) as we now have good ol' chatgpt to take it over. But hey, I can use it to code bits I don't care about (GUI)
